Myrna Kwasnecha

Myrna graduated from the University of Alberta in 1977 with a  Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Her career took a different direction in the late 1980's when she joined Financial Services Group. Her combined education and experience in group retirement equips her to design customized plans, investment options and varying cost structures. Her health sciences background is invaluable when reviewing health and dental plan options.

What Myrna Does for You: 

Myrna assists clients in the implementation and ongoing monitoring of employee benefit plans including life and health plans, health spending accounts, and group retirement savings plans.

Michael MacPhail


A problem solver and entrepreneur by nature, Michael has built a unique career spanning two provinces (Ontario and Alberta) and several industries including policing, real estate, franchising, investing and insurance.Today, Michael is a partner at Financial Services Group and FSG Benefits Solutions, where his practice is focused on assisting small to medium sized business owners with corporate and financial planning, employee benefits and group retirement plans.Michael is LLQP licenced and is currently taking his Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.Fun facts:

  • Michael is an avid Bluejays fan and was at the Rogers Centre for both the Bautista “Bat Flip” home run and the Encarnacion “Wild Card Walk-off” home run
  • Michael’s wife, Heather, toured internationally as a professional Modern Dancer
  • Michael was ranked among the top 5% of Royal LePage agents in Canada
  • Michael opened one of the first Panago Pizza locations in downtown Toronto

Scott Kwasnecha

Scott graduated from the University of Alberta's School of Business in 2006 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting and Business Strategy. After a few years of working different accounting positions within the Government of Alberta, North American Construction Group and MacKay LLP, Scott teamed up with his father Gary and mother Myrna and the rest of the team at Financial Services Group. Scott's accounting and technical background allows him to assist in all aspects of financial planning, including personal and corporate finances. Scott obtained his Alberta Insurance Council Life License in 2009, Certified Financial Planner Designation in 2014 and his Certified Health Specialist in 2019.  

What Scott Does for You:

Scott works together with business owners to analyze, formulate and evaluate their employee benefits and retirement plans.  The benefit and retirement landscape has changed signficantly over the years and Scott's role is to help create a customized plan that provides today's employees flexibility and choice, all while maintaining a sustainable plan for the employer.

Patrick Kwasnecha

Patrick graduated from NAIT with a Business Administration & Finance Diploma. After graduating from high school, Patrick went into trade school and began working as an Electrician. Throughout his time in the electrical field, Patrick worked in three different sectors of electrical, including industrial, commercial and residential.Patrick enjoyed several years in the field and learned a lot; however, soon realized that he wanted to be able to utilize his knowledge and capabilities in a different manner – not just his hands! Patrick's decision to pursue a career in business and financial services was not easy, but he has not looked back since! Patrick is currently completing his Alberta Insurance Council Life License (LLQP) and is looking forward to working with new clients.
